Washington Supreme Court issues order about Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) processes released

We are very pleased to report that the Washington Supreme Court issued an order regarding ITA hearings process during COVID-19 that largely reflects the order WSHA sought and that provides hospitals the flexibility for which the current emergency calls. There is explicit recognition that ITA cases be decided on the merits. WSHA worked hard to gain agreement from the state associations for prosecutors and defenders on the language in this Order and we are pleased that the Supreme Court recognized its importance.
