Washington was one of nine states to have representatives attend the State Policy Academy on Global Budgeting for Rural Hospitals in Baltimore May 30. Washington’s delegation included Cascade Medical Center CEO Diane Blake, Olympic Medical Center CEO Eric Lewis, Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) Director Sue Birch, HCA Medicaid Director MaryAnne Lindeblad, HCA Healthier Washington Senior Health Policy Analyst Gary Swan, HCA Special Assistant for Health Policy and Programs Rachel Quinn, House Healthcare and Wellness Committee Chair Rep. Eileen Cody, and AWPHD Executive Director Ben Lindekugel.
The academy featured experts on hospital payments from across the country. Johns Hopkins University hosted the academy in collaboration with the Milbank Memorial Fund and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s State Health and Value Strategies. Read more about the academy. (Tim Pfarr)
