Washington hospitals highlight antibiotic stewardship for CDC

Several Washington hospitals recently participated in a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) safe health care webinar, sharing their strategies for enhancing antimicrobial stewardship programs in Critical Access Hospitals.

Associate Medical Director for the UW Tele-Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Zahra Escobar, PharmD, discussed reimagining rural health through state and community partnerships.

Forks Community Hospital Director of Pharmacy Janet Schade, MS, RPh, shared education, prescribing and reporting strategies, focusing on the “every patient, every time” motto.

Astria Sunnyside Hospital Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist Jessica Zering, PharmD, explained her experience developing faculty-specific prescribing guidelines and using data reporting and tracking to inform outpatient stewardship.
