Washington Hospital Services can help you prepare for your next infection prevention audit

July 28, 2022

On July 6, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published the final rule for hospital interpretative guidance for infection prevention (IP) and control and antibiotic stewardship programs. This guidance codifies hospital Conditions of Participation (CoP) for infection prevention and control and antibiotic stewardship program requirements. These new requirements were discussed at the last IP Forum on July 18.

WHS offers assistance to hospitals wishing to prepare for IP audits (as well as Clinical Quality, Environment of Care and COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance audits) though pre-survey inspections that are conducted in a “mock” audit format.
