The Washington Health Benefit Exchange announced April 19 that it is lowering its carrier assessment rate by 55 percent, from $7.46 to $3.36 per member per month, on all 2019 health plans purchased through Washington Healthplanfinder. This reduction is passed on directly to consumers through lowered premium prices.
The exchange’s board acted to reduce the assessment for carriers offering Qualified Health Plans through the state’s online health marketplace during a special meeting. Read more. (Zosia Stanley)
