The Health Systems Access to Care Fund supports free clinics in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Its services include technical assistance, funding and shared educational opportunities for beneficiaries to come together to share training and resources. The fund focuses on operations and sustainability. It was co-created by Providence Health & Services, Legacy Health, PeaceHealth and Kaiser Permanente NW.
The health systems that support the Care Fund came together to invest in their community and address the previous lack of communication between health systems and free clinics. Each organization wanted to provide direct financial support to accessible, community-based health care. And, each health system made an initial investment of $300,000 to the fund, which is administered by the Oregon Community Foundation.
Since its founding in 2018, eight community clinics have received funding. Further details are available online.
