June 24, 2021

The Washington State Health Care Authority will host a virtual panel discussion, The Communicator’s Role in Advancing Health Equity, from noon to 1:30 p.m. July 22.

Panelists include Leanne Berge, CEO of Community Health Plan of Washington and Community Health Network of Washington; Quyen Huynh, Equity, Social Justice and Strategy Manager at the Washington State Health Care Authority; and Leann Johnson, Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion at the Oregon Health Authority.

The virtual panel provides a forum to:

  • Discuss principles and fundamentals of health equity, health literacy, and effective communications that lead to healthier communities
  • Emphasize that communicators play a fundamental role in advancing health equity

The event is tailored for communications professionals at health-related organizations, including public agencies, community-based organizations, hospitals and health systems, health plans, local public health jurisdictions, and nonprofit/grassroots communicators whose organizations provide health supports, social services, and health system navigation.
