Seventeen more hospitals in Washington state and Oregon are joining WSHA and Ariadne Labs to implement TeamBirth: a best practices program that centers the patient in all health care decisions made throughout labor, delivery and postpartum. This group of hospitals represent the third cohort adopting the program, with go-live dates beginning the week of Oct. 21. The hospitals in the third cohort are:
- Astria Sunnyside Hospital
- Kadlec Regional Medical Center
- Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center
- Legacy Silverton Medical Center (in Oregon)
- Mason Health
- MultiCare Capital Medical Center
- Multicare Deaconess Hospital
- Mulitcare Valley Hospital
- PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center
- Peacehealth St. John Medical Center
- Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center
- Providence St. Mary Medical Center
- Pullman Regional Hospital
- Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel (in Oregon)
- St. Anne Hospital
- WhidbeyHealth

TeamBirth was developed by Ariadne Labs, a joint center for health systems innovation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
WSHA partnered Ariadne Labs to introduce the program in Washington 2023. The first two cohorts consisted of 15 and six hospitals, respectively. We hope to achieve 100% adoption of TeamBirth across Washington state’s birthing hospitals by the end of 2025. The third cohort represents the first time Oregon hospitals will implement TeamBirth.
We’re looking forward to the upcoming go-live dates! Read more about TeamBirth on the WSHA website.

Jenica Sandall
