Telemedicine Collaborative applications available

April 28, 2016

This legislative session, one of WSHA’s top priorities was continuing to advance policy support for telemedicine, and we were very pleased with the passage of Senate Bill 6519. As part of this new legislation, a statewide Telemedicine Collaborative is being convened. The application to serve on the collaborative is now available and is due by May 15. The collaborative will develop recommendations on improving reimbursement and access to services, identify telemedicine best practices, and make a recommendation on whether to create a technical assistance center in Washington to support providers in implementing or expanding services delivered through telemedicine. Membership in the collaborative is limited, but all meetings will be open to any interested parties. We encourage WSHA members and hospital-employed and affiliated clinics and providers to apply.
