Join Washington Hospital Services for a panel discussion on Supply Chain Cybersecurity: Reduce Your Risk from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Register online here.
Panelists include representatives from Washington Hospital Services Industry Partners Sensato and Scaled Data, and WSHA hospital member MultiCare. The discussion will explore the challenges, considerations and potential conflicts of interest hospitals face as cybersecurity creates a larger footprint in hospital workforce and technology investments.
Suppliers need to be secure to keep hospitals secure: Malicious actors could tamper with products at a shipping center before they ever reach healthcare customers. Digital attackers could prey upon openings within a supplier’s network. A mobile healthcare app or a product’s outdated firmware make their way through the supply chain where they can get access to a healthcare entity and steal its stored PHI…These are just a few examples of supply chain digital risks that hospitals have experienced.
Hospital supply chains are becoming more complex and reliant on technology creating unique cyber risks and increased regulatory requirements.
Attacks on software supply chains can be difficult to detect yet devastating if one has occurred. But organizations can take steps to limit the risk from their suppliers. The first step is to identify the risks.
Participants of the panel discussion will:
- Learn about risks hospitals of all sizes face from their supply chains
- Learn how hospitals can ensure suppliers are meeting baseline security controls
- Understand why and how potential supply chain security problems may be missed
Please pass this invite along to anyone in your hospital network who may be interested. Please contact Cynthia Hay at cynthiah@wsha.org or (206) 216-2526 if you have any questions or would like more information about the program.
