On March 9, Steven Saxe, R.Ph, FACHE has been named the acting executive director for the Washington State Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission. He will replace Lisa Hodgson, who formerly held the position. Steven is a graduate of the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and previously served as the executive director for the then Pharmacy Board in 2004. He is aware of the current challenges and complexities facing the pharmacy profession and commission.
Most recently, he was director of the Office of Community Health Systems within the Washington State Department of Health where he worked on construction review, certificate of need, emergency medical services and trauma care, and rural health.
WSHA has a long history of working with Steven and the department as a key health care stakeholder. We look forward to working with him on ways to improve the practice and regulation of pharmacy in Washington State. (Ian Corbridge)
