State releases new resources on behavioral health impacts of COVID-19

The Washington State COVID-19 Behavioral Health Response Group recently released guidance documents and other resources to support hospitals, behavioral health providers and other stakeholders plan for and respond to the behavioral health impacts of COVID-19. Select resources are described below and can be accessed on the Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Resources and Recommendations webpage.

  • COVID-19 guidance for behavioral health inpatient and residential facilities. This document outlines COVID-19 infection prevention and control procedures for behavioral health inpatient and residential care facilities. Information on maintaining quality behavioral health treatment while reducing the spread of COVID-19 is included.
  • Behavioral health weekly situation reports. The weekly situation reports present potential behavioral health impacts of the COVID‐19 pandemic for Washington State to inform planning efforts.
  • Statewide monthly forecasts. These forecasts outline behavioral health implications and potential outcomes given different scenarios (such as second or third waves) in the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • COVID-19 behavioral health group impact reference guide. This guide provides information on the predicted behavioral health impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic for a variety of groups within Washington State.
