Workforce challenges are cited as a top issue by many of WSHA’s members and having accurate data to better tell the story of issues hospitals are facing in recruiting health care professionals is crucial to garnering support for forward-thinking solutions. Since 2016, the Washington Sentinel Network has collected ground-level information about health care needs in Washington, and they need responses from hospitals to collect a more complete picture of healthcare workforce issues.
In 2019, the legislature provided ongoing funding for the Sentinel Network to collect data on healthcare recruiting hurdles, common skill gaps, and other workforce challenges – so we know lawmakers in Olympia are paying attention to this important tool and the data they’re receiving. WSHA urges hospitals to respond to the survey – which is only open until Nov. 8. Get more details and sign up to become a Sentinel online.
