WSHA will host a webinar from 10:30 a.m. to noon on March 27 on new employment laws related to paid sick leave (I-1433) and paid family and medical leave (SB 5975). The paid sick leave law took effect Jan. 1, and the family and medical leave law will be implemented Jan. 1, 2019, with benefits beginning for employees in 2020.
WSHA has received questions from members about these laws, including about how they apply in a health care setting. The webinar will feature about an hour of content and at least 30 minutes for questions and answers. If you would like to participate, please email Linda Simmons at LindaS@wsha.org. The webcast is for WSHA members only.
Tim O’Connell, J.D., partner at Stoel Rives, will be the webinar’s featured speaker, and he will be joined by WSHA Executive Vice President and General Counsel Taya Briley and WSHA Senior Director of Policy Development Chelene Whiteaker. (Chelene Whiteaker)
