Reporting of Coronavirus Relief Funds from the State

July 1, 2021

The Health Care Authority (HCA) distributed $38 million of Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) to all acute care hospitals in Washington back in December 2020 after significant WSHA advocacy work. We recently learned from the HCA that the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number for the CRF funding is 21.019. This award number should be used on each hospital’s Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) as part of the organization’s single audit.

The CRF funds must be used in 2020. As a reminder, here is information on how the funds can be used. The state does not have any reporting requirements for this award, and we do not expect a state audit on how the funds were used. The funding is subject to a federal government audit so each organization should document how the funds were used.
