Reminder: Maternal mortality requests for records, next report Oct. 2019

The Department of Health is collecting information from hospitals and other health care providers on maternal deaths in preparation for the next report to the legislature from the Maternal Mortality Review Panel in October 2019. As part of this process, DOH may contact hospitals to request medical records. If such a request is made, they are asking that it be fulfilled as soon as possible. Information, documents, and records obtained by DOH for the proposes of this review are protected by law and will remain confidential. They are not subject to inspection, copying, or introduction into evidence in any civil or criminal court proceedings.
