The Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) of the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requires registration and approval for covered entities to participate in the 340B Program. Registration must be recertified each year by the entity’s Authorizing Official (AO) or Primary Contact (PC) through the Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS). Entities should automatically be receiving recertification notices, but we recommend covered entities periodically review their file to ensure it is up to date. This is particularly important if there are changes to the entity’s authorizing official or primary contact, or if it is getting a close to a year since the previous recertification.
