Registration open for WSHA’s management training program – LEAD Academy

February 27, 2020

In health care, folks who are technically proficient tend to be promoted into management jobs. Because technical skills don’t often lend themselves to management skills, these newly minted managers can benefit from additional training and support. That’s why WSHA created the LEAD Academy. This comprehensive training program covers all aspects of management and is offered one day/month for six months in Mt. Vernon and Moses Lake. It costs $1,975 per person. Registration for our Mt. Vernon Academy will close on March 24th.

Our Advanced LEAD Academy is intended for experienced managers who are looking to deepen or refresh their leadership abilities. This program helps participants expand skills related to negotiation, project management, coaching and more. This program is offered one day per month for four months in Moses Lake and costs $1,500 per person.

Participants leave each session with a wealth of tools and practical skills that can immediately be applied to the work setting. At each session, participants learn new skills and tools and practice using them in a safe environment. Then they go back to work and try out these new skills and tools in the work setting. The next month they come back to LEAD and discuss what worked and what didn’t, learning from each other and the facilitator. Then they learn new skills and repeat the process.

The programs are inter-disciplinary and appropriate for staff throughout the hospital, from physicians and nurses to housekeeping, replicating experiences staff will have at the workplace.

More information is on our website, including session dates, course details and links to register.
