Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital in Spokane recently completed a remodel of its third-floor general pediatrics unit to ensure quicker response to patient needs, celebrating with a ribbon cutting this week. The project began in early 2018 and includes upgrades to common family areas, a new nursing station and call system for each room, and portable blood pressure machines.
The renovation was funded by a $1 million pledge from Inland Northwest Ace Hardware Stores, which supports Sacred Heart through its affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Most of the project was paid for by customers rounding up their purchases at the cash register.
“Their generosity helps Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital continue its legacy of delivering exceptional care at a remarkable facility designed specifically for pediatric patients and their families,” Providence Health Care Foundation Chief Philanthropy Officer Joyce M. Cameron said.
