The application portal for $17 billion in provider relief funds (PRF) Phase 4 and $8.5 billion in Rural ARPA funding opened September 29 with an application deadline of October 26. WSHA recommends interested hospitals to apply promptly for either or both funding streams as it can take several days just to complete the TIN validation process. A portion of the funding is based on COVID expenses and lost revenues for a prior period and another portion based on the hospitals proportion of Medicare and Medicaid services. More information regarding the specifics of the funding and the application process is on the HHS Website.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) held a webinar on October 5th to answer questions regarding eligibility, determination of benefits, navigation of the application portal and the application process. A recording of that webinar is available here. HRSA will also hold an additional webinar with focus on needed supporting documentation.
