Next week is Patient Safety Awareness Week: a dedicated time for growing awareness about patient safety. Some studies suggest medical errors may cause as many as 400,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. Washington, Alaska and Oregon hospitals working together with the WSHA patient safety team have prevented more than 7,000 harm events in the last three years.
We will be promoting Patient Safety Awareness Week all week on WSHA’s Facebook page. Please consider sharing photos of your hospital’s Patient Safety Awareness Week activities with us. The WSHA patient safety team is making their commitment to improving patient safety public by joining the United for Patient Safety pledge, and we encourage hospitals to join us! Use #PSAW18 on social media to join the conversation!
