Othello Community Hospital has partnered with Ritzville’s East Adams Rural Healthcare to provide mobile primary care clinic services once a week outside the Othello hospital. The clinic is a fully equipped motorcoach.
“We don’t have a clinic here at the hospital,” Othello Community Hospital CEO Connie Agenbroad told the Columbia Basin Herald. “I think the biggest benefit is access (to primary care) because we do have a huge underserved population.”
The clinic also provides services not offered by other clinics in or near Othello, like walk-in services or the ability to offer services outside schools or businesses for large groups. It helps care for those on fixed incomes, those with mobility issues or serious illnesses, those without a primary care provider or those who may be anxious about visiting a larger clinic or the hospital.
The program, which began in April, continues each Wednesday. Read more from the Columbia Basin Herald. (Tim Pfarr)
