Online registration closes this Friday, Sept. 27, for WSHA’s Annual Meeting and Governance Education Day, Oct. 9-10 at The Hyatt Regency Lake Washington in Renton! Walk-up registration will be available at the event. We booked a lineup of nationally renowned speakers for the conference, including:
- Shankar Vedantam, NPR social correspondent and host of the podcast Hidden Brain, who will discuss the psychology of change within organizations
- Barbara Ehrenreich, who will participate in a conversation about her newest book, Natural Causes: An Epidemic of Wellness, the Certainty of Dying, and Killing Ourselves to Live Longer
- Chris McChesney, who will deliver an inspiring closing message giving attendees the tools to take the ideas they learned throughout the day home and execute them in their hospitals and communities
We are also calling on hospital/health system staff, nurses and physicians who want to take action and build a better health care system in Washington State to engage with us in our first-ever Advocacy Bootcamp Oct. 8. Bootcamp attendees will:
- Gain an understanding of the key issues impacting health care in Washington State
- Learn how to amplify their voice to support health care in their communities
- Hear from legislators and experts in government relations
- Practice testifying and answering tough questions
