Board nominations are now open for the state’s new Cancer Research Endowment Authority Board established by the Washington State Legislature. The board will oversee and guide the cancer research endowment (CARE) fund – including the solicitation, selection and awarding of grants. There are reserved seats for particular hospitals, health systems and research institutions, and the profile of the board can be found here.
If you are interested in applying for this seat, please fill out the “Application for gubernatorial appointment to a board or commission” found here: https://fortress.wa.gov/es/governor/boardsapplication. Please choose “Cancer Research Endowment Authority Board” under the drop down menu titled “Please choose the board or commission for which you would like to be considered.” Nominations will be open until May 6, 2016. There is a requirement for geographic diversity; the governor is particularly interested in nominations outside King County.
