Nominations are now open for WSHA’s Joe Hopkins Memorial Award and the Community Health Leadership Award, which will be presented at WSHA’s 85thAnnual Member Meeting Oct. 12 in Seattle. The 32nd Annual Joe Hopkins Memorial Award will be given to an individual who displays the spirit of Joe Hopkins’ vision and dedication to Washington’s hospitals, with a special focus on his interest in rural health. The Community Health Leadership Award is given annually to a health care organization that is serving its community’s broader health needs in innovative and lasting ways.
The late Joe Hopkins was a long-time leader in the Washington State health care arena who served in many capacities, including as a hospital administrator, WSHA chairman and American Hospital Association committee member.
Through the Community Health Leadership Award, WSHA is looking to recognize organizations that are not just serving patients, but are making their entire communities healthier. (Wendy Ray)
