The Sentinel Network’s next round of data collection began March 13, asking hospital leaders to make their workforce needs known to policymakers, planners and educators. The survey is sent out twice a year.
Washington’s Sentinel Network is a collaboration of the state’s Workforce Board and the University of Washington’s Center for Health Workforce Studies and a program of Washington’s Health Workforce Council. Funding to initiate the Sentinel Network came from the Healthier Washington initiative, with ongoing support from Governor Inslee’s office and the Washington Legislature. The information provided helped the state craft regulatory changes to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and invest in promising workforce pathways.
Submissions are kept confidential, and examples of topics included in the survey includes:
- What are your current workforce experiences and concerns?
- What are examples of policy changes that would be beneficial for your organization?
- What health workforce challenges are you facing now compared to six months ago?
