A new place for wellness and recovery

February 7, 2018

Recovering from illness, injury or surgery can be a challenge. At Klickitat Valley Health in Goldendale, a new facility is making the process easier, helping patients through rehabilitation and allowing them to transition to a general maintenance health and wellness routine, all in the same place.

Klickitat’s new Wellness and Therapy Center held its grand opening January 18, inviting the community to see the new facility that is there to serve them. The hospital-based facility was designed with physical therapy rehabilitation in mind, and it includes a state-of-the-art therapy gym, a wellness classroom, occupational therapy suite, massage suite, patient and exam rooms, and offices for staff.

The programs at the Wellness and Therapy Center are designed to bridge the gap between therapy and wellness, and it will include physical therapy, occupational therapy and dietician services. The staff hopes to add massage therapy and other therapy services as well.

The new facility is the first piece in a two-year campaign at the hospital of leading healthy changes in the community.

“The new Wellness and Therapy Center enhances our ability to provide state-of-the-art physical therapy and occupational therapy, which gets patients back to their everyday lives,” Klickitat CEO Leslie Hiebert said. “We’ve also invested in this center because we believe we must play an active role and provide the resources needed to help everyone in our community achieve new levels of well-being. Our ultimate goal is keeping people out of the hospital.”
