MultiCare Health System President and CEO Bill Robertson becomes WSHA board chair

MultiCare Health System President and CEO Bill Robertson has been elected board chair of the Washington State Hospital Association (WSHA). As chair, Robertson will preside over the Board of Trustees and help lead the hospital association’s work for the coming year. WSHA hospital and health system members elected Robertson during the association’s Oct. 7 installment of its Annual Meeting eSeries.

“Bill has long been involved as a leader with WSHA in many capacities, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him as our board chair for the coming year,” said Cassie Sauer, WSHA president and CEO. “He brings great dedication and compassion to his work, helping residents across our state live their best and healthiest lives.”

“WSHA has long been a driving force in building a strong health care community here in Washington,” said Bill Robertson, President and CEO of MultiCare Health System. “I have always been grateful for the diverse group of talented leaders that make up WSHA’s members and for the many opportunities WSHA provides for partnership and collaboration. It is an honor to be chosen to serve as board chair.”

WSHA is the membership association for all the hospitals and health systems in Washington state. The association takes a major leadership role in issues that impact delivery, quality, accessibility, affordability and continuity of health care in both the policy and the clinical arenas. It works to improve the health status of all residents.

 

About Bill Robertson

Bill Robertson joined MultiCare in 2014. Under his leadership, the organization has grown from a Tacoma-centric, hospital-based organization into the largest, not-for-profit, locally owned comprehensive system of health in the state of Washington. Prior to leading MultiCare, Robertson served as President and CEO for Adventist HealthCare Inc. based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, as well as CEO of Shawnee Mission Medical Center near Kansas City, Kansas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern Adventist University, and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. He was also a Certified Public Accountant.
