On February 22, WSHA hosted a webinar providing an overview of the NOTICE Act requirements and the Medicare Outpatient Observation Notification (MOON) form. The Act requires hospitals, including critical access hospitals, to notify Medicare patients who have been placed in observation status. See https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Medicare-General-Information/BNI/index.html for links to the form, form completion instructions, and Medicare manual guidance.
During the webcast, hospitals shared what they are doing operationally to meet the requirements. WSHA is providing webinar slides which detail the requirements and include a summary of the comments shared by hospitals during the webinar. (Andrew Busz, firstname.lastname@example.org).
