The Department of Health is hosting four workshops to gather input on the Certificate of Need (CN) program. The certificate of need process helps ensure facilities and new healthcare service providers are needed for quality patient care with a region or community. This initiative aims to review and potentially reform CN laws to ensure they effectively address health care service needs, access to care, cost control and equity.
The workshops are part of a broader effort to provide a comprehensive report to the legislature and governor by June 30, 2025. Register below, and you can also submit written comments to cnrulemaking@doh.wa.gov.
