Increase your understanding of opioid use disorder at WSHA webinar

November 14, 2019

Many hospital emergency department and inpatient staff experience compassion fatigue. They are often not aware when patients recover because they are no longer frequenting the emergency room. WSHA and Public Health – Seattle & King County have collaborated to host a webinar intended to combat stigma and show that recovery is possible. It is also a call to action for all care providers to create opportunities for patients to begin their treatment journey.

The event “OUD Stories of Recovery” is designed for service staff, providers and administrators who want to increase their awareness and understanding of how medications for opioid use disorder can help empower patients to begin their recovery journey. It will feature three patients telling their stories of substance use disorder recovery and interaction with the health system.

The webinar is scheduled for Nov. 20 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The session will also be recorded and available to view and share on demand. View the event flyer for more information and registration details.
