HHS Provides CARES Funding and Attestation FAQ

May 20, 2020

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently provided an updated set of Frequently Asked Questions regarding CARES act funding and related attestation requirements. On May 7, HHS announced the time period for attestation was increased from 30 to 45 days. Providers and hospitals must attest to acceptance of the terms and conditions, which include agreement not to balance bill patients for COVID-19 services and abide to a set of general federal funding prohibitions.  Separate attestation is needed for each distribution of CARES act funding.  More information, including the attention portal and links to the terms and conditions can be found on the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund webpage.
