September 29, 2021

The US. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provided more information related to applying for the $17 billion in Phase 4 Provider Relief Funding and $8.5 in ARPA Rural Funding. The application portal opened earlier today, September 29th with an application deadline of October 26th. HHS will be holding two webinars on September 30th and October 5th to answer questions regarding eligibility, determination of benefits, navigation of the application portal and the application process. Registration for the webinars is required and can be done through the above links. New information:

  • While eligibility will be based on COVID-related costs and lost revenues for a prior period, the funds will be able to be applied to eligible expenses and lost revenues incurred through December 31, 2022.
  • The rural funds will be calculated based on services to patients living in rural areas. Hospitals and providers in non-rural areas may qualify for rural funds if they provide services to patients from rural areas.

WSHA will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available. (Andrew Busz, AndrewB@wsha.org)
