The Health Care Authority (HCA) announced it is now accepting template billing for administration of COVID-19 vaccines at mass vaccination sites. Providers can use the template billing process for both Medicaid fee-for-service and Medicaid managed care enrollees. Vaccine administration performed retroactive to April 1, 2021 can be billed using the template method. More information is in the HCA announcement.
On a related note, the HCA increased the payment amounts for vaccine administration effective April 1 to better reflect the actual cost of administration, following a similar Medicare increase. (Andrew Busz, Andrewb@wsha.org)
