Health Benefit Exchange board names new CEO

The Washington Health Benefit Exchange board unanimously voted last week to permanently appoint Pam MacEwan as the new chief executive officer, effective immediately. She has served as interim CEO since last August, succeeding the organizations first CEO, Richard Onizuka. As interim CEO, Pam completed a successful open enrollment period with more enrollees than ever before. She also helped improve the customer experience, reduce cost, foster a culture of transparency and implement a strategic plan to focus on growing enrollment and sustainability.
