Congratulations to Dr. Vania Rudolf, an addiction medicine physician at Providence Swedish, who was recently awarded the Public Policy Award from the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Rudolf is an example of how tireless advocacy leads to change in how we care for patients who use drugs, and many of these changes are accessible to all hospitals.
All hospitals can review their naloxone distribution systems to ensure they are truly capturing all at-risk patients. All encounters with patients who use drugs is an opportunity to offer MOUD and HCA has many resources available through ScalaNW. (Brittany Weiner)
