Don’t forget to nominate for WSHA awards by the Aug. 30 deadline

August 8, 2019

Through our awards, WSHA recognizes our members for exceptional work towards improving the health of the communities they serve. You are invited to submit an individual or health care organization for acknowledgement by Friday, Aug. 30. Award recipients will be announced at WSHA’s Annual Meeting Oct. 9.

Our awards are the Governance Excellence Award, the 2019 Joe Hopkins Memorial Award and the Community Health Leadership Award.

The Governance Excellence Award is new for 2019 and will be given to a hospital board member or commissioner who has displayed exemplary leadership and community service. All WSHA members can make nominations for this award.

The Joe Hopkins Memorial Award was created in 1987 to acknowledge an individual who displays the spirit of Joe Hopkins’ vision and dedication to Washington’s hospitals, with a special focus on his interest in rural health. Only hospital administrators or board members/commissioners can make nominations.

The Community Health Leadership Award is given each year to a health care organization that is serving its community’s broader health needs in innovative and lasting ways. All WSHA members can make nominations for this award.

Remember, nominations for all awards are due through the WSHA website by Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. We look forward to reviewing the nominees!
