The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) will host several Certificate of Need (CN) listening sessions in October to solicit from feedback from stakeholders to inform its future rulemaking for the CN program. Upcoming listening sessions in October are:
- End Stage Renal Disease: 9:30-11 a.m. Oct. 12
- Hospitals: 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Oct. 14
- Tertiary Services: 1:30-3 p.m. Oct. 19
- Nursing Homes: 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 20
- Ambulatory Surgical Facilities: 1:30-3 p.m. Oct. 20
- General Certificate of Need Rules: 1:30-3 p.m. Oct. 21
- Home Health: 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Oct. 26
All of the October listening sessions will be held through Microsoft Teams and access information is available on DOH’s CN webpage.
According to DOH’s listening session announcement, the goals for the CN rule project are “to update the rules to align with the current public health landscape, provide more equitable processes and rules wherever possible, and simplify the CN rules as much as possible making the CN process less complex for providers seeking to enter the health care system with Washington.” (David Streeter)
