The Washington State Department of Commerce announced $4 million in grants to improve the energy efficiency of a variety of community buildings in Washington. The grants are part of the 2021 State Energy Strategy for lowering carbon-emissions. Several Washington hospitals and health systems were awarded grants, including Harborview Medical Center, Kittitas Valley Healthcare and Klickitat Valley Health.
“Kittitas Valley Healthcare, with help from Department of Commerce, will be pursuing energy efficiency improvement measures that will benefit our patients and our community by reducing our carbon footprint, renewing critical equipment life expectancy, reliability and reducing our operating costs,” KVH Chief of Facilities Ron Urlacher told the Department of Commerce. “We are excited to get this project underway.”
