Cordant introduces new program to help fight opioid epidemic

June 23, 2016

cordant-health-solutions-logoWashington Hospital Services Industry Partner Cordant Health Solutions has introduced a new drug take back program to its already existing toxicology services. According to a study done by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, 62 percent of teens who have taken prescription medication for no medical reasons said they did so because they had easy access to the drugs in their parent’s medicine cabinets. Another Study found that 70 percent of people who misused prescription drugs first did so by taking them from friends or family without permission. Cordant is hoping that by providing an easy way to return unused medication that it can help reduce easy access to the opioids that start many on the path to addiction. To learn more about Cordant’s new program please click here.
