The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has notified hospitals that it will provide confidential hospital-specific reports to review two disparity methods that assess hospital performance for patients with social risk factors in Hospital 30-day, All-Cause, Risk-Standardized Readmission Rate Following Pneumonia Hospitalization. The reports will be provided for hospitals to preview from August 24 to September 24.
The results from this reporting do not impact hospitals’ reimbursements, and the data captured will not be publicly reported. Hospitals do not need to take any action to participate in the confidential reporting period. Read more in a message from CMS. (Tim Pfarr)
