The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released their proposed inpatient rule for 2022 on May 9 and will accept comments on the rule through June 28. A summary of the rule and hospital-specific impact analyses were sent to the CFO or designated finance person for each member PPS Hospital in late May. In general, we believe the proposed rule includes several responsible proposals and adjustments to address potential negative impacts of the COVID-19 emergency.
WSHA has prepared draft comments and encourages member hospitals to submit their own comments using WSHA’s draft comments as a guide. The WSHA’s draft comment letter has sections where hospitals can provide information regarding the specific impact on their facility.
