Clinical series on improving psychiatric care for patients with opioid use disorder

April 2, 2021

Co-occurring mental health disorders can complicate and undermine treatment of opioid use disorders and overwhelm providers. The University of Washington’s Addictions, Drug and Alcohol Institute (ADAI) will offer a free seminar for providers in April and May on “Improving psychiatric care in patients with opioid use disorder: Sorting through multiple diagnoses and polypharmacy.” This four-part virtual seminar will help providers develop their skill set to more confidently assess and manage some of the most complex mental health issues that can emerge in the treatment of opioid use disorder by focusing on mood disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD and the medications used to treat them. This seminar will be led by Dr. Mark Duncan, addiction psychiatrist at the University of Washington, who will present several relevant interactive didactic topics followed by discussion of participant-submitted cases. View the series flyer for more information or register online here.
