Hospitals across Washington State are celebrating the holidays in their own unique ways!
PMH Medical Center held its third-annual food drive benefiting Jubilee Ministries in Prosser. The food drive went from Nov. 2 to Dec. 10, and a friendly competition was set in motion including all employees, volunteers, medical staff, board members and foundation board members. In just under six weeks, the 15 PMH teams collected 1,696 food items (1,620 lbs) and $6,995 in cash donations. The PMH goal was to beat its 2014 record, which it beat by 129%!
Providence St. Peter Hospital was treated to a volunteer choir group made up of hospital staff members that spread its touch of holiday cheer throughout the medical center. The annual holiday event was started by the hospital’s Spiritual Care department and chaplain staff and is made up of any employee who wishes to join the chorus for the lunch-hour performances. Summit Pacific Medical Center, in addition to their other festivities, participated in the Montesano Festival of Lights on Dec. 12. Through the heavy rain and blustery winds, all 25 volunteers had a great time wrapping each other in blue, green and white lights and showing their Summit pride.
From all of us at WSHA, we hope you are having a happy holiday season, and we wish you a happy start to 2016!
