April is Donate Life Month, a special time to share stories and gratitude for the gift of donation, and to encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. One donor has the power to help save the lives of nine patients through organ donation, restore the sight of two individuals through cornea donation and help restore the health of more than 150 people through tissue donation.
LifeNet Health, the only full-service tissue bank in the Pacific Northwest, has shared a variety of tools and resources for raising awareness throughout the month:
- A toolkit for any present or potential partners interested in promoting donation, with suggested social media posts, graphics, facts and a guest article for blogs and newsletters.
- A video highlighting how the gift of donation changed the life of a teenage athlete.
- A video with LifeNet Health President and CEO Rony Thomas conducting a flag raising and calling on hospital partners throughout the country to do the same during April.
