September is both National Recovery Month and Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The goal of these events is to raise awareness, increase community conversation and instill hope. This year, the National Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is for Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,” reminds us all that recovery is possible and may look different from person to person.
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month aims to increase conversation, highlight available crisis resources and spread hope that prevention is possible. Later this month, WSHA is hosting a webinar in partnership with the University of Washington and other community partners discussing suicide care best practices. The event, All Patients Safe: Supporting ED Providers in Suicide Prevention Best Practices, will be from 12-1:30 p.m., Sept. 22. Please visit the registration site for more information and to register for this event.
