Cascade Valley board approves merger with Skagit Regional Health

Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics’ Board of Commissioners voted Nov. 4 to formally approve the hospital’s merger with Skagit Regional Health. The hospitals announced in March an intent to merge, and both hospitals would keep their publicly elected boards. The affiliation also calls for the hospitals to work with UW Medicine to provide more medical services in the Arlington and Mount Vernon communities. The hospitals will make a final review of the merger, and they approve it, the merger would be reviewed by the state Department of Health before it becomes official. (Tim Pfarr)
