Bulletin: Changes to Physician Assistant Practice Laws effective 2021 and 2022

June 4, 2020

WSHA has released a bulletin on the changes to the physician assistant practice laws that take effect in 2021 and 2022. The new laws are intended to remove administrative burdens and allow for more efficient use of physician assistants. The most significant change is the new practice agreement system that replaces the current delegation agreement system between physicians and physician assistants. Other changes include authorization for PA’s to practice at remote sites and an increase in the number of PA’s that may be supervised by an individual physician.
