Early the morning of Monday, Jan. 13, Astria Regional Medical Center in Yakima ended emergency room services as part of its shut down of the hospital. Also this week, a bankruptcy court judge denied a motion for reconsideration of the closure filed by the Washington State Nurses Association. All operations are expected to close by Jan. 22. The closure of comes as part of Astria’s bankruptcy restructuring. WSHA has connected hospital members with each other and with the Washington State Department of Health during this period of transition to ensure community health care needs continue to be met.
