Over the course of the last two years our teams have experienced significant personal and professional trauma. As an association membership, we’ve been focused on supporting the workforce – including hospital leaders – through the pandemic. We’re answering members’ request for resources to help move through trauma to recovery with a virtual Transforming Workplace Trauma workshop on March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The goal of the interactive workshop is to provide practical tools to help us sustain as leaders and support our teams in the face of trauma, secondary trauma and overwhelm. The workshop will be led by national trauma recovery expert Laura van Dernoot Lipsky. She is the founder of The Trauma Stewardship Institute and author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others and The Age of Overwhelm.
As leaders, we are often focused on supporting our teams and we don’t often get a chance to examine our own trauma and focus on our own recovery. This workshop provides a time and space to reflect on our own experiences while also gaining insights into how to help our teams process and move through their own trauma.
I’m looking forward to learning new strategies. I hope you and your leadership team can join me in participating in this workshop. Registration is now open: https://www.wsha.org/event/workforce-workshop/
